2021: A Year in Review

Through the magic of science we were able to be vaccinated, boostered, and cautiously resume somewhat normal activities this year.

This year we didn’t travel quite as much as last year. We didn’t run or race as much as we did the year before either. This year was definitely the calm before the storm that is to be 2020.

This year we spent a lot of time out of the house; in the yard or traveling. Don’t worry, our house didn’t get too lonely, more rats moved in.

2016 was not a great year, and 2017 was no better. It was the year I learned to stop saying, “well, it can’t possibly get WORSE.”

Like My Dreams They Fade and Die

For instance, if I say, “Do you want Bacon?” Bella immediately appears from wherever she’s been hiding and starts licking her lips. If I say, “If you sit on the couch with me I will cover you in a blanket and snuggle with you.” She will jump onto the couch or run away depending on her mood. But if I say, “This isn’t a bubble gun, it is a milk frother.” She cocks her head to the side and stares at me and says, “You’re a moron who can’t work a bubble gun correctly.” in perfect French.

2016 A Year In Review

2016 wasn’t the best year for us … there were a lot of trial-and-error DIY projects, I broke my hip, and a Cheeto got elected president. But there were some good things that happened. Can’t think of any right now…

2014: A Year In Review

We participated in three 10ks and six half marathons across four states and two countries; and ran in six states if you add Colorado and Illinois just for fun (no official events).
