When I presented the idea to Chad, I knew we didn’t have the kind of space for a legitimate screening room. But I thought it might be somewhat practical, given these *unprecedented times* – most overused phrase of the year, to have a smaller cinema room. With Chad excited, I set out to create a miniature and simplified home theater room.
Then the pandemic happened. Chad was working from home. My sister dropped in for several weeks (with the best niece in the world), to wait out part of the quarantine in Utah instead of California. Suddenly, our house was too small. And we had all of our 2020 travel budget all dressed up and nowhere to go.
To start, I dug up an email that had the original blueprints for the house, and used a program to draw out new plans for the basement. It was then that I noticed that the bathroom that our builders designed was really strange. Fortunately, for a small fee (in the grand scheme of things) we could have all of that dug up and moved around, since I still wanted the bathroom in that general location.
